Webb7 dec. 2010 · The perineurium surrounds the endoneurium in concentric cellular layers, each one cell thick (Fig. 3 ). In larger nerve fascicles, the perineurium consists of as many as 15 cellular layers, with fewer layers in smaller fascicles and only one cell layer in the vicinity of motor and some sensory end organs (Fig. 3 a–c). WebbIt is formed when Schwann cells (blue) wrap around the fibre, depositing layers of myelin between each coil. Unmyelinated nerve fibres are also present.
