Webmanagement of food allergies in schools. Many schools and ECE programs have implemented some of the steps needed to manage food allergies effectively. Yet systematic planning for managing the risk of food allergies and responding to food allergy emergencies in schools and ECE programs remains incomplete and inconsistent. Webschools need to be prepared to meet the needs of students with life-threatening food allergies in the event the student has a severe allergic reaction at school. Individuals who experience a negative reaction to a food, beverage, or food additive that does not involve the immune system, have a “food intolerance,” not a food allergy.
