WebIt depends on the surrounding faces. If the neighbor which also got a new vertex was already a quad it is now an ngon (more than 4 sides). These can pose their own issues with the subdivision. Generally if the tris are rare they don't pose problems and ngons are okay if they are flat. Near edges and curvy parts quads are pretty much a requisite. WebIf blender has a triangulate function, use it on your object and the polygon count would double provided that the model only had quads. I didn't know Blender didn't count triangles as well but I imagine it does, usually these apps show, all sorts of statistics, like face count (quads), verts, edges, uvs, tris.
